Three bands to savour at this LCoM Jazz Showcase 2017

NYSJB: Under the tuition of Steve Fishwick, a well-established trumpeter on the New York Jazz scene, this band utilises his experience to form a blend of classic and contemporary. Taking influence from fundamental jazz giants such as Joe Henderson and Wayne Shorter and infusing this with elements of the contemporary. With a touch of Dave Holland, this band exude New York Jazz.

The Alžbeta Turčányiová Sextet aims to explore contemporary jazz with a focus on world music, folk and progresive rock fusion. This music often incorporates many different senses of style within one piece and uses many unusual devices.

Wardrobe Quintet is a Leeds based Jazztronica band set to go on a Norwegian release tour in March. The quintet takes influences from a wide range of genres. They are influenced as much by the poetry of Scandinavian nature as by electronic effects, and the underground music of their second home, Leeds.
