Jazz promoter funding opportunity!

From Tony Dudley-Evans

Hello Everyone

This is for Norvoljazz members who fit into the categories of voluntary and small to mid scale promoters that might be interested in seeking funding from PRSF.

PRSF is hosting a meeting about their funding schemes during the London Jazz Festival on Sunday 13th November.  As many of you will know, JPN has approached PRSF several times to ask whether they intend to revive the funding scheme for jazz promoters formerly run with Jazz Services.   Emily Saunders has also had a meeting with PRSF on the same subject.  We feel that the discontinuation of this scheme (the Jazz Promoters Awards) has created problems for many promoters and weakened the infrastructure of jazz promotion in UK.

It is clear that PRSF is not going to revive this scheme, but is anxious that jazz promoters apply to its General Schemes for Promoters.  A number of jazz promoters have done so successfully.  NorvolJazz network is a member of JPN and we would encourage you to think of applying and, therefore, if you can, attend the meeting.  Details below:

Sunday 13 November – Sunley Pavilion, Southbank Centre
2.45-4.30pm – Funding for small scale jazz promoters - Presentation and panel session

Hosted by the PRS for Music Foundation, Jazz Promoters Network (JPN) and Jazz UK

Head to the Sunley Pavilion for a panel discussion and funding Q&A. The session is designed to offer practical tips and better inform promoters on how to apply for a grant of up to £10,000 from the PRS Foundation's The Open Fund for Organisations scheme
