Mike Gordon writes

"Some tasty treats at Scarborough Jazz this coming month

NOVEMBER 4: John Etheridge & Trio North
A real treat in store as this legend of guitar pays his annual visit to the Club. Described by Pat Metheny as “one of the best guitarists in the World”, John made his name in the seventies with Soft Machine. He is also well respected for his work with Stephan Grappelli, John Williams and Nigel Kennedy, with whom he performed at the 2014 Scarborough Jazz Festival. He is supported by bassist Ben Crosland and drummer Dave Tyas. £8 (£7 in advance)

NOVEMBER 11: Frank Brooker
Whether it be tenor sax, clarinet or vocals, Frank is guaranteed to entertain in the company of The Mike Gordon Trio. £4

NOVEMBER 18: The Unkempt.
The Unkempt are a new and innovative jazz/funk/blues outfit fronted by sax legend Dave Kemp. Much of the material is penned by Dave but unique versions of Standards will also be on the menu.

In addition to Dave the quartet comprises Mark Gordon (keys), Tom Townsend (drums) and Chris Lea (bass).

NOVEMBER 25: Jim Birkett
Guitarist Jim is always a popular draw both at the Club and the Festival, where he provides the excellent interval spots. Expect a varied mix of music presented with warmth and skill. MG3 £4
