Thursday 1 October has a welcome return to Leeds of Snarky Puppy - a collective of musicians from New York playing an infectious mixture of jazz, funk, and world music. "Raw funk and sensitive dynamics, relentless pocket and lyrical melodicism, lush harmony and soulful simplicity, and most importantly, a delicate mixture of composition and improvisation". The band has always used live performance as its chief form of evangelism, and maintains a more intense tour schedule than almost any band in the idiom.

Then on Friday 2 October at the Howard Assembly Room it is American pianist American pianist Aaron Parks is featured- he a leading musician in the new generation of jazz pianists and composers to come out of New York: a master of melody, and a composer and arranger of skill and dexterity. As an ECM artist, he is joined on this first UK tour by two other formidable players from that label, bassist Ben Street and someone who has played with Miles, Herbie Hancock, (everyone!) Billy Hart on drums
