Today's the all-day-er at Heart

Today Sat April 23rd there's jazz all day event at HEART in Headingley Leeds featuring the trumpet talents of Matt Roberts.

At 2.30pm Matt takes a workshop for all musicans with Matt Roberts (finishes 4.30pm). Contgactg lesley if you wish to come along - lesley@jazz-at-heart.org.uk  or turn up and take your chances... £20 per person. A good taster for summer school if you're wondering about that. More fun than you've had in ages;) All instruments/abilities welcome!

At 7.30 Matt Roberts sextet plays the music of Nat Adderley  - expect to hear some of those soul jazz classics like "Dis Here" and Dat Dere"!

Leeds pianist Joe Boyes will be playing a support set at the start of the concert. Featuring Andy Leggett on electric bass and Danny Wares on the drums, the band takes a contemporary approach to playing typical tunes, developing them into a fresh idiom. The band takes influences from various artists, ranging from the likes of Bill Evans and John Taylor to Esbjorn Svensson and Kenny Wheeler.
