All set for Chapel Allerton Festival...

Sunday afternoon 6 September 12.30-7pm sees the best chill out for the local jazz and blues scene -the Chapel Allerton Arts Festival Jazz Sunday in Regent Street Leeds.

Here's the bands - all for the cost of £3 in the famous Festival buckets...

Garforth Jazz Rock Band 12.30pm
Directed by Dave Evans, the Garforth Jazz Rock Band from Garforth Academy has gone on to become one of the busiest and best youth jazz ensembles in the country, performing all over the UK, and touring Ireland, Germany and South Africa.

Stretch Trio 1.30pm
 Stretch Trio was formed as an outlet for music written by EWI and Saxophonist, Andy French. "Stretch Trio are no ordinary guitar trio, they sonically push the envelope of the traditional jazz sound incorporating today's contemporary technology. Definitely one to watch! "  - Dennis Rollins

Nicki Allan/Rod Mason Quintet 2.30pm  
Nicki Allan vocals, Rod Mason sax, Tom Kincaid piano, Dave Turner double bass, Caroline Boaden drums, James Robinson percussion
Saxman Rod Mason and vocalist Nikki Allan return to play a set of new funk tunes plus some Herbie Hancock, Gil Scott heron and other great songs. Come down for a really Jazz/funky experience!

James O'Hara Blues Band 3.30pm
James O'Hara - Lead vocals & guitar, Marc Leyton Bennet - Drums, Clinton McFarlane - Bass, Jon Burr - Harmonica, Paul Corry - Guitar.
James O'Hara is a Leeds based Blues musician with a wealth of experience in fronting bands since 1985 including The Detonators and The Giantkillers. In the last 25 years he has been lucky enough to meet and play with many British Blues legends and Chicago Blues royalty.

Louis Louis Louis 4.30pm
Sam Thornton - vocals and saxophones, Laurence Marshall - vocals, trombone & trumpet, Chris Lloyd - vocals and piano, Adam Richards - vocals and double bass, Ric Colley - vocals and drums.   A classic jump blues, rocksteady and ska band,  with a thumping slap bass, honking horns, raucous four-part vocal harmonies and a driving piano boogie.

Tarantismo 5.30pm
Tarantismo are a 7 piece band that will keep you dancing through for the rest of the evening. Inspired by the hot rhythms of Cuban Son and continuing the earthy tradition made popular by the Buena Vista Social Club. There will be a salsa dance class too to get you in the mood with Tanya and Sergio!
